  • Faster reporting: xAPI completion statements now process at near real-time speeds.
  • Bug fixes: Resolved an issue affecting some Team account migrations.

These updates make it easier to find courses, access help, and track learning activity.

In our latest release we spruced up the navigation bar and drop down menus for your account and site translations. We also performed some maintenance.

update: Performance improvements

In our latest release we increased the speed of course synchronization with learning platforms using our newest integrations. We also did some maintenance.

feature: Team feature rollout and WCAG(AA) 2.1 compliance

This month we broadly released a Team feature that allows you to add other administrators to your account. For more information, see How to use the Team dashboard in our knowledge base.

We also added a tool that makes our site fully WCAG(AA) 2.1-compliant for learning administrators. It is automatically detected by screen readers.

If you don't use a screen reader:

  1. Visit the OpenSesame catalog
  2. Use the keyboard shortcut Alt + 9 (PC) or Option + 9 (Mac).
  3. Adjust the settings as you prefer.

And to find accessible courses, use the Accessibility Standards filter in our catalog.

feature: Dashboard and delivery efficiency

We've streamlined the OpenSesame Dashboard to simplify course delivery and improve delivery data.

Simplified delivery:

  • All delivery actions now use the Deliver Courses button, found on course pages and OpenSesame Lists.
  • This change streamlines the process and reduces dashboard clutter. Delivery buttons no longer appear on the following tabs:
    • OpenSesame Plus
    • Purchased Courses
    • Pay Per Use (PPU)
  • While we were at it, we fixed a display issue on the PPU tab that affected certain course statuses.

Improved data:

  • With all delivery actions now in one place, there are no legacy exceptions to track. This protects the accuracy of information found in the Courses Dashboard.

feature: Introducing our competency model and accessibility search

Last week, we released two new features in our marketplace to enhance your content discovery:

  • Competency Model: Our new model organizes 34 competencies into five key domains, all rooted in comprehensive research and industry best practices. Find courses mapped to each competency with the Competencies search filter.
  • Accessibility Standard: Finding courses that meet Section 508 and WCAG (AA) standards is now easier than ever. Use the Accessibility Standards search filter to locate these courses for your learners.

feature: Making your work easier

Last week we released several improvements to how you find content for your learners.

  • The OpenSesame Plus selector is now defaulted to On, eliminating the need to set that on every new search.
  • The link to My Lists is now in the top navigation bar. With one click you can go straight to your Lists.
  • You can see both changes in the screenshot below:

We also made some performance improvements to the system at large.
